Tunisia-President Kais Saied meets with Tunis Mayor Souad Abderrahim

President Kais Saied welcomed Mayor of Tunis Souad Abderrahim at Carthage presidential palace.

The meeting laid emphasis on the need to upgrade the services given by the municipality to citizens, to improve the living conditions of residents of the capital and improve their housing area.

The meeting was additionally an opportunity to emphasise the importance of building new projects and redeveloping many areas, to improve the living environment in Tunis city and bring about a qualitative transformation in municipal action.

The President of the Republic pointed to various historical monuments that were run by the municipality of Tunis and were “neglected for decades”. He raised the issue of urban development in different neighbourhoods of the capital, citing unimplemented plans, including the one linking to buildings at risk of collapse. The mayor of Tunis gave a number of projects that will be carried out in different districts of the capital and aiming to preserve a set of public spaces.
