Tunisia-Breaking news: 1795 coronavirus infections and 58 new deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Public Health reported on Sunday 1795  more cases of infection by the Coronavirus and 58  additional deaths as of January 17 at 11:00 a.m., taking the total death tally to the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic to 5750.

6311 tests were carried out on the same date, bringing the total number of screenings carried out since the outbreak of the pandemic to 762,563, a press release of the Health Department reads.

The number of recoveries rose by 2027 to 131,019.

Some 1,925  patients are still hospitalised in public and private institutions, including 385 in intensive care and 130 under life support.
