Tunisia reported two more cases of contamination with COVID-19 on May 16, 2020, bringing the total number of infected people to 1037, the Ministry of Health declared.
The ministry emphasised in a statement, “Following a total of 1916 lab tests, 19 cases tested positive, of which 2 were new cases and 17 were previously confirmed cases who were still infected with this virus.
The death toll from the coronavirus in Tunisia is stable at 45 so far while recoveries grew to 807.
Moreover, Active cases number are 185 and they still under observation, including only 3 currently hospitalised.
The ministry-related tests are primarily carried out on persons assumed of having contracted the virus and those who have had contact with confirmed cases.
It also asks Tunisians to strictly respect the law and lockdown measures in all regions of the country in order to stem the spread of the virus.
