Tunisia-Breaking news:Tunisia detects first Omicron variant

The Minister of Health, Ali Mrabet, declared, in a statement to the Al Watania 1 channel, this Friday, December 3, 2021, that Tunisia reported its first Omicron variant.

This case concerns a 23-year-old Congolese who has just come to Tunisia from Istanbul. As soon as he landed at Tunis-Carthage Airport, he was subjected to a rapid test which turned out to be positive. The sequencing carried out at the Institut Pasteur in Tunis made it possible to distinguish this strain of the coronavirus.
