The civil society operating on Djerba requested the Health Ministry to review its resolution to dismiss the island from targeted lockdown and to change the designation of the island as an “epidemic cluster.”, the TAP reported.
Given the extended closing of the island, as part of the total lockdown steps, and its consequences notwithstanding the development of the health situation and its balance with 63 positive cases with COVID-19, 29 of which have been healed, the civil society began a campaign called “Lift the blockade on the island of Djerba” to push authorities to revise their decision.
In a declaration to TAP, President of the Regional Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, Fethi Bakali called on the Health Ministry to amend the decision to list the island as an epidemic cluster and to take into thought the struggles of several sectors due to the crisis related to COVID-19.
