Tunisia-Charfeddine Yacoubi: Saied’s approach is still ambiguous

Expert in governance and the fight against corruption Charfeddine Yacoubi assessed that the issue of penal reconciliation with people involved in economic and financial offences has been presented for several years and raised by President Kais Saied since 2012.

In a statement given to a radio station, he said that President Saied’s approach is still ambiguous, as long as the reconciliation bill is not yet released and given to public opinion, stating that the reconciliation commission will not be a judicial structure.

He added that the report of the commission of the late Abdelfattah Omar needs to be updated to define the list of people affected by the reconciliation.
