Tunisia – Chebbi: There will be no presidential elections with or without us!

The president of the National Salvation Front, Ahmed Najib Chebbi, stated that they would examine the participation, or not, in the next presidential elections during the current week.

He added: “There will be no elections, whether we are candidates or not unless the conditions for free competition for power are met … The elections are not an ornament or a masquerade … They must be free, and fair and constitute a constitutional right. ”

Chabbi clarified at a press conference held today by the Ennahda movement, that “the presidential elections must take place in time and under certain conditions, in particular fair and free competition, the release of all political and professional prisoners of the arrested media, and guarantee the independence of the electoral body and the judiciary and not to employ them … “
