Tunisia: Children’s use of social networks increased by 88%

President of the Tunisian Association for the Protection of Children and Youth Against Cybernetic Dangers, Mohamed Ben Nooman, stated on Thursday that the usage of social networks by children aged 13 to 17 has risen by 88%  between 2019 and 2022, despite the numerous threats that endanger them in the virtual world.
 
He clarified to the TAP, that the statistics issued are the result of a study carried out by a Tunisian research office during the first quarter of this year on the usage of “Instagram and “Facebook” by different age groups. He pointed out that the category affected by these statistics are children in the age group of 13 to 17 years old, and their number is currently more than 500,000 users.
