Tunisia-Ministry of Trade-Economic Control: Review of the first 6 days of Ramadan

The Ministry of Commerce declared that 3,570 economic violations were registered during 17,305 economic control operations during the first 6 days of Ramadan. 59.5% of these offences primarily concern vegetables and fruits, 29.2% relate to food products while 6.6% represent the bakery sector.

Below are the products seized:

  • 3375 liters of subsidized vegetable oil
  • 255.5 quintals of subsidized flour
  • 206 kg of semolina
  • 63 kg of pasta
  • 2710 kg of peppers
  • 1558 kg of tomatoes
  • 142 kg of rice
  • 437 kg of subsidized sugar
  • 1872 kg of white meat
  • 1811 cigarette packs
  • 1.2 tons of fodder
