Tunisia-Chokri Hammouda: Rapid tests cannot detect Omicron

The director of the National Body for Health Assessment and Accreditation, Chokri Hammouda, told Mosaique FM  that the Omicron variant represents 70% of the samples. which were sequenced between December 28 and 30, 201.
He affirmed that the samples only involve the governorates of Grand Tunis. He likewise said that studies show that the new variant cannot be detected by rapid tests and that people who show the symptoms should undergo PCR tests. Chokri Hammouda correspondingly pointed out that the third dose of the Covid vaccine restores 70% of antibody-based immunity.
