Dr. Samira Marai, head of the Department of Respiratory Diseases at Rabta hospital said on Wednesday, July 1 that she and other doctors in this department have made the decision to submit a collective resignation to oppose work conditions.
Speaking on IFM, she talked of remarkably difficult conditions in her department despite the coronavirus crisis. “For the past month, we have only been working with two nurses who cover 12 hours of work,” she said.
She also recalled that her department is running out of practically all drugs, saying they have alerted authorities on this issue since May.
Samira Marai warned against a second wave of the coronavirus which could hit the public health sector when conditions are already difficult.
