National Council of the Order of Physicians Nizar Adhari, confirmed to Tunisie Numérique that the council was not notified, neither by the Parliament’s Health Committee nor the Presidency of Parliament, of a draft law related to banning travel for its employees if they decline to work in the internal regions.
He pointed out that the council received this news, like all other Tunisians, through the media, and if it obtains any draft law proposal officially, it will voice its position officially as well, because the data currently available remain only ideas, as some spoke about prohibiting travel and others about returning 100 thousand dinars.
Our speaker clarified in the same context that the proposal of this law and the points related to it concern physicians who have vowed to work in the internal regions to obtain the speciality they desire, even though their results do not permit that. This is an agreement with the state and must be adhered to and fulfilled. These doctors are dedicated to their commitments, emphasising that the council does not oppose this.
He went on to say that this issue is up for discussion with the various parties implicated, to find suitable solutions and proposals, without prejudice to personal freedoms, such as travel bans and other measures.
