Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, former diplomat Abdallah Laabidi stated that the coup in Niger would be at the root of a geopolitical change for France and its partners, in particular “its colonies ”.
According to our speaker, there are two central camps; that of Western Europe and that of China and Russia which is still in the process of transformation. He also added that Algeria had recently decided to join the latter side.
Laabidi underscore that the situation required a new geopolitical reading in order to defend the country’s interests. According to him, there is no danger for Tunisia militarily.
