Tunisia-Court officials reject AMT-government deal

On strike for a month, the judicial agents selected to decline the accord signed between the Association of Tunisian Magistrates and the government on Friday, December 18.

This does not obligate us in any way, Hattab Ben Othman, President of the union of judicial agents said on Facebook stating that their strike is still proceeding.

Court officials declared an open strike in a ruling that comes after a meeting held by the union’s executive committee. The demonstrators demand the certification of the diplomas of officials and executives of the Ministry of Justice as well as bonuses connected to the nature of the work.

An agreement was signed on Friday, December 18, 2020, between the Presidency of the Government, represented by its Secretary-General Walid Dhahbi, and the Association of Tunisian Magistrates (AMT) represented by Anas Hammadi.

With this agreement, the AMT is anticipated to end its strike, pending the position of the Syndicates of Magistrates and Agents and Executives of Justice.
