The toll of contamination by the coronavirus at the children’s hospital, Béchir Hamza, at Bab Saadoun in Tunis has increased to 12 including medical and paramedical executives, Tarek Ben Nasr, regional director of health in Tunis, said on Sunday.
In a statement to TAP, the official said that all infected people are currently in self-isolation and their condition is stable, saying that no contamination has been recorded in children.
He also indicated that since the reopening of the borders on June 27, 240 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded, of which 63 (30%) in Tunis West (Sidi Hassine, Sijoumi, Zahrouni and Hreyreya).
According to the same source, there are 153 local cases and 87 imported cases, the majority placed in self-containment.
In addition, 3 deaths have been recorded since the reopening of the borders. Two arrived from Libya as part of medical tourism and one elderly person.
The regional health director reported that 5 patients are currently hospitalized and their condition is stable.
