The Health Ministry announced on Friday in its daily bulletin that 4020 tests conducted on October 1, revealed the infection of 1223 persons by the novel coronavirus, bringing the tally to 20,994.
According to the same source, 5 more fatalities were recorded bringing the overall number of deaths to 276.
357 COVID-19 infected patients are currently in hospitals, 107 of whom in intensive care and 42 under ventilators.
