The president of the local UTAP office in Meknassy, Anouar Harrathi, revealed that a huge swarm of crickets, 2 km long and half a km wide, was witnessed in the locality of Douiouira, near Meknassy, in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid.
If the swarm in its current presentation does not represent a real threat, Harrathi nevertheless warned of the danger it represents if we do not treat it in time, and permit the crickets to multiply.
Harrathi added that these critters represent a real threat to olive trees at the moment.
