Tunisia-Death of Dr. Aloui: Protest in front of the Jendouba court

The tragic death of the young resident doctor, Badreddine Aloui, proceeds to provoke controversy. This young doctor died on December 3 at the Jendouba regional hospital after falling in an elevator shaft.

His death stirred the anger of the inhabitants of Jendouba who protested, Saturday, December 5, 2020, in front of the seat of the governorate and asked for the expulsion of the governor of the region and to assume responsibility for anyone who contributed to the death of the doctor.

On the sidelines of this tragic accident, officials in the central services and at the level of the governorate of Jendouba were removed by the decision of the Minister of Health, including the person responsible for maintenance work at the regional hospital of Jendouba and the deputy director of Jendouba regional hospital.

Nonetheless, residents and medical and paramedical executives, as well as civil society activists, organized a demonstration rally on Monday, December 7, 2020, in front of the Jendouba court of first instance to call for justice to command responsibility from those responsible for the death of Badreddine Aloui.

They believe, in fact, that the regional director of health and the director of the regional hospital of Jendouba does not assume the responsibility for the death of this doctor since they have just been appointed to their posts. They also believe that the two maintenance workers arrested do not even have the required equipment to work.
