Tunisian artist and designer Leïla Menchari died yesterday Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the age of 93.

The so-called “queen mage” was the great organizer of the Hermès showcases at 24, faubourg Saint Honoré from 1978 to 2013.

Born in Tunis in 1927, Leïla Menchari entered Hermès in 1961 after meeting Annie Beaumel, of whom she would be assistant, before being appointed head of decoration in 1978 by Jean-Louis Dumas.
