National security units in the district of Djerba (governorate of Medenine) succeeded last week in apprehending a man who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old child, a security source told Tunisie Numérique.
The same source said that the victim’s father filed a complaint against the defendant expressing that the latter took his son to an anonymous isolated place and sexually assaulted him. After consultation with the public prosecutor, it was decided to place him in police custody and an inquiry was opened in this regard. It turned out later that the accused had confessed the facts of the crime.
