Tunisia-Djebel Jelloud-Collision between two trains: verdict on March 31

The First Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Tunis 2 and his spokesperson, Sami Smedhi confirmed, in a statement on a private radio this Thursday evening, that the Criminal Chamber at the court decided to issue a court decision on March 31 against the safety and driver controller in the collision of the two trains at Djebel Jelloud.

Smedhi added that the prosecution of the Court of First Instance of Tunis 2, ordered the opening of a safety inquiry to determine the responsibilities in the collision accident between two trains in Djebel Jelloud, designating a traffic team to carry out the required research. The public prosecutor then ordered the arrest of the security controller and the presentation of the two train drivers in court. According to the same source, the public prosecutor’s office decided today, Thursday, to direct the three defendants only to the attention of the Criminal Chamber of the court, in a state of release.

After having heard them on what was charged them regarding the involuntary injuries and the failure to take the necessary precautions, it was decided to retain the file to announce the judgments on March 31.
