Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, climate expert Hamdi Hached confirmed that Tunisia is impacted by storms, but only at specific times of the year, namely the late summer and the start of fall.

The expert explained that the reason that Tunisia is affected by storms at this time is that the sea has stored enormous amounts of heat, and this heat may later form in the form of extreme weather phenomena.

He noted that it is very difficult and almost impossible during this period of the year for Tunisia to be concerned with the storm that happened yesterday in the Emirates, underlining the presence of an imbalance in rain, which resulted in extreme climatic phenomena unlike those we are accustomed to, and thus it is possible to record quantities of rain. A large amount of rain at the wrong time or retention of rain at a time when rainfall is expected.
