Tunisia.. Do we jeopardise intimidating foreign investors!?

What occurred at the press conference for the defence of the two martyrs Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi, a group that is believed in some way to represent the educated elite in Tunisia, is openly assailing one of the largest foreign investors in Tunisia.

Attorneys permitted themselves to explicitly and directly accuse the largest telephone operator in Tunisia, “Qatari Ooredoo”, in the centre of a press conference broadcast through satellite around the globe.

The company was accused of spying and lobbying for the Muslim Brotherhood in the capital.

The defence team should have organised its file well and dodged confusion that might shift the case from its primary focus, which is the disclosure of those involved in the assassination of the two martyrs, Mohamed Brahmi and Chokri Belaid.

Maybe it is good to recall that the technical management of Ooredoo Tunisia is 100% Tunisian, and the general manager of Ooredoo Tunisia was a Canadian for a few years, a Lebanese, and then a Qatari.

Shouldn’t we desert the obsession with conveying stories on social networks to reality, and the frenzy of throwing accusations right and left about everything without any proper basis.

It is better for everyone to be cautious not to drive foreign investors to leave Tunisia, particularly in these difficult circumstances, simply because if foreign investment plays out, it is difficult to encourage inward investment in any way.
