Tunisia-English teacher sued for assigning zero to her student

In a radio statement, English teacher Faten Ben Slama said she was shocked to be prosecuted for child and verbal abuse after assigning a student a  zero. The family of the student in question decided to file a complaint after discovering that this event provoked him a facial paralysis.

The professor stated she has been teaching for 27 years, yet she has never been exposed to this kind of problem. She expressed her apologies for the situation in which the child finds himself, emphasising, however, that she treated him “according to the established teaching methods”.

The teacher further condemned the smear campaigns launched against her on social media, adding that she did not accept the various requests for conciliation that were offered to her because she had done nothing.
