Tunisia: Ennahdha announces its position on the National Consultative Commission

Ennahdha remarked in a statement on the publication of the decree setting the so-called National Consultative Commission, which will supervise the “sham referendum by which the coup aims to continue its criminalities by dismantling the state and its institutions and substituting them with absolute autocracy”. Considering that “this abandoned measure is a complete rupture with constitutional legitimacy and a dedication to the coup of July 25, 2021”.

It likewise called on “all national forces to continue the struggle and join their efforts to restore democracy, protect freedoms and human rights, respect the foundations of the republican system and save the nation from the dangers of. economic, financial and social collapse and the crisis of international isolation, resulting from the coup and the policies of the putschists”.
