Tunisia-Ettakatol: Saied wants to dismantle state institutions

Ettakatol cautioned against the “autocratic drift” of President Kaïs Saïed, condemning a concentration of power in his hands in the name of a “revolution of the people”. “President Kaïs Saïed has assumed complete powers under the pretext of exceptional measures”, the party was dissatisfied, accusing the head of state of aiming to establish an authoritarian regime, to dismantle state institutions, to take control of the media, to degrade the image of magistrates and to demonize the components of civil and political society.

Ettakatol correspondingly denounced designations made on the basis of loyalty, far from any criterion of competence, warning against any try to undermine or paralyze state institutions.
