Tunisia-EU Grants Tunisia 250 Mln Euros in its fight for Coronavirus

The European Union has granted Tunisia 250 million euros in aid to help it cope with the economic and social effects of the coronavirus outbreak, EU ambassador Patrice Bergamini said on Saturday in a tweet.

Tunisia is fighting to contain the outbreak after 278 confirmed cases and eight deaths.

Tunisia has closed schools, universities, cafes and bars, shut its land and maritime borders and suspended international flights to try and slow the spread of the disease. It also banned travel between cities while imposing a nighttime curfew and a national lockdown.
