Tunisia-Exclusive-60 recommendations of the Tunisian Order of Chartered Accountants to Nejla Bouden

“Tax Reform and Investment Promotion”
Prime minister Mrs Najla BOUDEN held, on December 4, 2021, a meeting with the President of the Order of Chartered Accountants of Tunisia Mr. Walid BEN SALAH, in the framework of which was discussed in particular the economic and financial situation public. On this occasion, the President of the OECT expressed the profession’s determination to actively contribute to the recovery as well as the economic recovery of the nation and invited the public authorities and all stakeholders to initiate a reflection on the actual structural reforms to restore confidence in institutions, enhance the business environment and promote investment as well as secure tax fairness, decrease inequalities and effectively fight against fraud and evasion.
In this context, the President of the OECT presented for the consideration of the head of government a note containing 60 recommendations which revolve around the following main axes:
  • Lightening and simplification of texts & procedures.
  • Battle against tax fraud and tax evasion & Strengthening control.
  • Advancement of the business climate and promotion of investment.

 

In addition to the previous axes, there is likewise the transversal axis of the modernization and digitization of the administration, the actions of which coincide with all the components of the economic, financial, administrative and fiscal system.
This note will be increased by other areas of reform and supplemented by an action plan describing the measures to be put in place at the level of each recommendation as well as the program for their implementation while highlighting the highest priority actions.
