Health Director-General Faycel Ben Saleh has confirmed the feasibility of announcing a targeted lockdown in the coming hours.
During a press conference held this Wednesday, October 28, 2020, Ben Saleh announced that new measures will be announced to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in Tunisia.
These measures could include targeted lockdown for certain categories, such as the elderly, but not general lockdown which he says is not being considered at this time.
He added that after yesterday’s meeting with Head of Government Hichem Mechichi, it had been agreed to define the options proposed by the Scientific Council in agreement with all parties and to take into account the State’s capacities to implement them in the best circumstances.
