Tunisia-Filed by various parties… Araibi reveals details of 8 cases pursuing Abir Moussi[Video]

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, lawyer Nafi Araibi disclosed details of eight cases filed against PDL leader Abir Moussi. The first case, filed before the Dean of Investigative Judges, charges Moussi with conspiracy against state security, potentially confronting the death penalty.

The second case, filed on January 3 by the Independent High Electoral Commission (ISIE), accuses her of infringing Decree 54 and could result in a 10-year jail sentence. The case is currently before the investigating judge, Office 33, with no set date for Moussi’s interrogation.

Three extra cases were lodged by the head of ISIE, Farouk Bouaskar, without specified charges. Another case was filed by the Tunisian General Labor Union, relating to a demonstration organized by the Free Destourian in front of the Tunisian Journalists Syndicate, where they were stopped from standing in front of the union headquarters.

Nafi Araibi specifically criticized what he perceived as the Tunisian General Labor Union’s involvement in undermining public freedoms.
