Tunisia-Gafsa :Legal action taken after two cases break quarantine

he local health directorate in Gafsa, on Monday, decided to take legal action after two suspected cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) failed to comply with the home-confinement measures, said local health director in Gafsa Sami Nasri.

The decision was taken after the daily monitoring of the condition of persons required to remain confined to their homes where it was found that two individuals did not comply with the instructions given, he pointed out.

He added that the regional health directorate in Gafsa decided to inform the Public Prosecutor’s office to decide on the necessary measures in such cases.

The same source added that 74 cases in Gafsa are subject to home confinement, eight of which recently returned to Tunisia by air from Italy.

The first confirmed case of coronavirus in Tunisia is a 40-year-old man from Gafsa who contracted the virus in Italy.

He is currently being admitted to Farhat Hached Hospital in Sousse in quarantine while his relatives are placed in confinement.
