Tunisia-Ghannouchi: We don’t need foreign armies to support democracy in Tunisia

Rached Ghannouchi declared that Tunisia stays independent and called for the return of democracy in the country, rejecting any foreign interference in local affairs.

The leader of the Ennahdha movement has, on another part, characterised as “positive” the positions of the European Union, the United States and Canada on the democratic transition in Tunisia.

In an interview with a private television channel, Ghannouchi stated that “we are not waiting for foreign armies to support democracy in Tunisia (…) It was Tunisians who brought democracy (…) Tunisia Still needed reconciliation … Tunisians must then accept each other, ”he said.
