Tunisia-Health Ministry : The health system has not collapsed

The Ministry of Health issued a statement on Friday, July 9, 2021, dismissing the words of  Nissaf Ben Alaya, who announced yesterday that the “health system has collapsed” and that the situation is catastrophic.

“Our nation is undergoing an unprecedented pandemic wave distinguished by a wide distribution of mutated” alpha “and” delta ” variant in most governorates of the republic, a high percentage of cases treated in hospitals, as well as an unfortunate rise in the number of deaths,” said the ministry.

“Our country is waging a real battle against the epidemic, which forces us all to close ranks, to prioritize the national interest, and to stand in solidarity with our health teams. The experience acquired by our health teams, the provision of resuscitation and oxygen capacities, and the targeted field hospitals have allowed the health system to face epidemiological hurdles and to continue to treat patients despite the deficiencies accumulated over decades, ”it continued.

The ministry finally asserted that the health system has not collapsed and will continue steadfast in the face of all difficulties and emergencies thanks to the efforts and skills of all health professionals, as well as to the solidarity of civil society. and joint cooperation with friendly countries.
