Tunisia-Illiteracy rates up to 17.7% in Tunisia

Minister of Social Affairs, Malek Zahi reported that Tunisia will set up a national register of illiterates in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In Tunisia, there are two million illiterates, or 17.7% of the population, with a particularly high rate among women, 50% of whom are in rural areas.
