he National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) has just transferred a case on suspected corruption, squandering of public money and mismanagement within the National Metrology Agency to the Public Prosecutor at the Tunis Court of First Instance.
According to INLUCC, the case concerns the payment of an amount of 250 thousand dinars in performance bonuses without any legal reason for 66 employees of the agency while the number of beneficiaries of these bonuses does not exceed 34 people. The National Metrology Agency is a public non-administrative institution. Its mission is, among others, to implement the strategic orientations to develop the national metrology policy. It also sets standards and technical guides relating to metrology and publishes them in coordination with the National Institute for Standardisation and Industrial Property. |
