Tunisia-Iyadh Elloumi: Referring to article 80, parliamentary meetings are legitimate

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the frozen MP Iyadh Elloumi remarked on the speech of the President of the Republic, about the holding of a plenary session serving to put an ending to the exceptional measures of July 25, 2021. Elloumi estimated that the head of state Kais Saied and the deputies were elected by Tunisians in the same way, affirming they all have the same legitimacy granted by the people.

“The deputies won more votes compared to Saied. Even more, the law does not stay the property of anyone” In addition, he revealed that “No one has the right to stop Tunisians from organizing their meetings (…). Referring to Decree 80, parliamentary meetings are legitimate,” he said.
