Tunisia-Kairouan – Coronavirus: 24 bodies buried in one night

Twenty-four dead in 24 hours. This is the tragic daily toll that was reported in Kairouan, where the pandemic is “swallowing ” the health system and leaving little opportunity for the hundreds of patients requiring intervention.

A Kairouan city councillor confirmed to Jawhara FM that the region reports, on average, one death every hour from the coronavirus. A second municipal councillor explained that the number sometimes surpasses this rate which is recorded in  Kairouan only, not to name the 13 remaining delegations.

The same source adds that Kairouan saw, on the night of Monday, June 22, 2021, the burial of 24 bodies of people who died as a result of covid-19.
