Speaking to Tunisie Numérique on the sidelines of his overseeing of a raid on a food storage warehouse, the regional director of Trade of Kairouan, Imed Sendid reassured citizens regarding the availability of various basic food products. He added that the State regularly injects sufficient amounts of basic food products into the market, adding that no shortage has been registered.
The Regional Trade Director declared that by the end of the week quantities of subsidized vegetable oil will be allocated to all points of sale in the Kairouan region under the supervision of economic control units. He additionally explained that high consumer demand and eagerness are behind the shortage of some commodities.
