Tunisia-Kais Siaed to Nabil Ammar: Strong support for Palestine in these difficult times

President of the Tunisian Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed today, at Carthage Palace, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar. During this meeting, diverse subjects were examined, including Tunisia’s participation in meetings of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as the steps carried by the President to defend Palestinian rights.

During this meeting, the President reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Tunisian people for the Palestinian cause. He emphasised that the current situation is the result of global changes, indicating the efforts of some international actors to reshape the Middle East. President Saied talked of the fleets heading towards the Eastern Mediterranean and the accumulation of military forces, therefore demonstrating that the situation goes far beyond the Palestinian question and suggests a new division like the Balfour Accords.

He called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs to intensify diplomatic efforts with national forces inside and defenders of justice around the world to put an ending to these massacres and confront any attempt at forced displacement, in order to stop Palestine and the entire nation from experiencing a new catastrophe similar to that of 1948. The President also cautioned against false legitimacy which could aggravate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

This meeting reflects Tunisia’s continued commitment to the Palestinian cause and its wish to see peace and justice prevail in the region.
