Tunisia – Kef: A school director and general supervisor involved in rape of two schoolgirls

The spokesperson for the Kef first instance court, Yousry El Houami, confirmed in a statement to Mosaïque FM, Monday, November 13, 2023, the suspension of the director of a public educational institution, the general supervisor of the establishment and a student, accused of raping two schoolgirls.

The inquiry into this case, the facts of which date back to 2019 and 2020, started following a complaint filed by the father of one of the two victims with the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

This investigation confirmed the rape of the complainant’s daughter, but likewise the existence of a second victim.

The public prosecutor then ordered the opening of a preliminary investigation before the children’s investigating judge for the rape of a minor under 16 years old under threat, against the minor student.

A second investigation, regarding the rape of a woman by someone with authority over the victim, against the director and general supervisor, has also been launched.

Prison warrants have been issued for all three defendants.
