Tunisia- Khemaies Jhinaoui: The African Free Trade Zone is a fundamental mechanism for achieving the African integration

Khemaies Jhinaoui Minister of Foreign Affairs hailed the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) as a “historical landmark” that is vital, for achieving the African union. President Béji Caïd Essebsi tasked Jhinaoui with properly leading the Tunisian delegation to works of the African Union summit in Niger.

The Tunis-based African Union Institute for Statistics (STATAFRIC) will undoubtedly play a crucial role in developing properly the region free trade. Moreover, he adequately expressed Tunisia evident determination to undoubtedly continue its effective contribution to the continent and its complementary policies. The ministry press statement said.

Tunisia signed the African Continental Free Trade Agreement in March 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda. Tunisia’s membership in AFCFTA and COMESA will bolster and sufficiently establish the legal framework of its relationships with African countries.

The African Continental Free Trade Area is invariably a continent-wide market of 1.2 billion people.
