Tunisia – Korchide: I was placed under house arrest and put on wanted list

Former Minister of State Domains, Mabrouk Korchid, announced in a press release published today, Sunday, March 17, 2024, that he was put on “house arrest” by the investigating judge acting on behalf of the file known in the media as “Marwan Mabrouk”, and he was then included on the list of wanted people, he confirmed.

He asserted that “no two jurists would disagree on these two measures being illegal”.

Korchide revealed in his statement that he had previously been questioned in the aforementioned case, considering that “nothing today justifies returning, in particular, among more than eleven ministers who partook in a ministerial council, and some of whom ratified without condition the lifting of the freezing of the assets of the businessman “Marwan Al-Mabrouk”. These ministers were not bothered due to the immunity of their affiliation to the current political path, as he said.

Korchide affirmed his permanent availability to appear before the courts “as soon as his objective conditions are met,” voicing his deep belief in justice.
