An inquiry was opened after the death yesterday at dawn of a student living in a university dormitory in Ksar Helal.
According to the testimonies of her friends, living in the same establishment, the victim felt unwell, around 6:00 a.m., and they were not able to assist her and transport her to the emergency room, since the guard of the establishment locked it up before leaving, during his work period.
The victim’s friends added that they contacted civil protection, but that the agents requested that they be alerted by the management of the establishment, to avoid false alarms.
Ultimately, the girl died due to lack of care.
The spokesperson for the courts of Monastir and Mahdia reported that the guard in question was arrested for causing the death of the young girl through negligence.
