Tunisia- Larayedh: Saied’s Constitution is an attempt to end the Revolution

On his official Facebook page, Ali Larayedh revealed that Ennahdha refuses the draft Constitution of the President of the Republic Kais Saied.

“We reject the project presented on grounds of its preparation approach, content and measure of its success…This project, issued on Saturday, like its predecessor, is a personal project, and its modification is personal, and it boils down to a total centralization of power in the hands of the coup, that is, the assemblage of all power in one’s hands without supervision, responsibility or accountability…This project is an attempt to end the Revolution and which does not even hesitate to use religion”.

“The referendum seeks to normalize and “legitimize” the coup…The consolidation of the values of freedom and democracy in contemporary Arab-Islamic culture is the most significant characteristic of the Tunisian Islamic current….This project represents a real threat to what the reform movements accomplished two centuries ago (…) he wrote.
