In a press conference today, the Ministry of Health declared the list of 17 beaches banned for swimming this summer.
As such, the representative of the environmental health and protection department Samir Ouerghemmi stated that 1,546 samples were taken to analyze the quality of water on Tunisian beaches.
Below is the list of beaches where swimming is prohibited:
Tunis Governorate:
- The beach located between Marsa and Gammarth, and Raoued beach
Ben Arous Governorate:
- The beach in front of the civil protection
- The beach located 100 meters north of the Oued Miliane watershed in Radès
- The beach located 100 meters south of Marouen beach
Governorate of Bizerte:
- Baali beach (Menzel Jemil)
- The beach of the fishing port of Menzel Abelharmane
- The beach of Sidi Hachani Menzel Abelharmane
Governorate of Gabes:
- Chott Essalem beach
- The beach near the watershed in the old Oued
- Ghanouch beach (Oued Ettin)
Nabeul Governorate:
- The beach in front of the SE4 sanitation station in Dar Chaabane
- Beni Khiar beach
- The beach in front of the technological pole in Soliman
Sousse Governorate:
- Sidi Abdelhamid beach 2
- The beach of Oued Hamdoun
- The beach of Oued El Hammam
