Tunisia – Magnitude 4.5 earthquake shakes Kerkennah Islands region

Seismic detection stations associated with the National Institute of Meteorology reported an earthquake on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 5:53 p.m. The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale, and its epicentre was determined, according to preliminary analysis, at sea, 39 km east of the Kerkennah Islands in the Sfax region.
