The national union of Tunisian journalists (SNJT) requested the government for more clarity on the vision embraced in the media sector. The SNJT, more precisely, maintained a clearer vision in relation to the confiscated media institutions demanding the appointment of a CEO at the head of the TAP agency while taking into thought the opinion of the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA).
Highlighting the significance of securing professionals in the media sector, the union called on the government to find solutions for “Shems FM” and “Cactus Prod”. Condemning the appearance of civilians before military courts, the SNJT indicated that legal proceedings linking to the publication must be carried out in accordance with Decree 115.
