Tunisia – Mehdi Ben Gharbia on hunger strike since yesterday

The lawyer of frozen MP Mehdi Ben Gharbia who is currently detained in  Messaadine prison in Sousse, declared that the latter started, since yesterday, November 5, a hunger strike to oppose what he deems as a relentlessness of the management of the jails and the judiciary.
Mehdi Ben Gharbia protests against stopping him from meeting his son, directly, without the interposition fences, as the judge had allowed him, particularly since his son is only 4 years old and motherless.
He further protested against many restrictions, such as the fact that he was blocked from following the news and censored Tunisian TV channels in his cell and not giving to him the newspapers and books that his attorneys and family had brought him since November 1st.
