Echâab member Haykel Mekki, confirmed that his party would have liked that the 2022 finance law to reflect the demands of the Tunisian people, especially those relating to the dissolution of the rent economy and the establishment of a new economic model to break down with the current corrupt regime.
In a statement to a radio station on Monday, Mekki clarified that “We hoped that the President Saied to opt for measures relating to debt relief and the means of paying them back. Nevertheless, this finance law is just another law crammed with numbers, which provides for privileges for the benefit of the dominant forces, ”he regretted.
