Tunisia – Ministry of Commerce sets prices of certain vegetables and threatens fraudsters of large fines

The Ministry of Commerce revealed this Friday that it was decided to fix a ceiling for the sale of certain vegetables following the observation of the climb in prices, following the decline in the offer.

The ministry has therefore set the price ceilings to:

  • 1,500 TND per kilo of potatoes
  • 1,200 TND per kilo of dry onion
  • 2,250 TND per kilo of fresh tomatoes.

The ministry added that it will accentuate controls at all levels to channel all production on the legal markets and combat speculation.
